چکیده

As an international standard adopted by ISO/IEC, the block cipher Camellia has been used in various cryptographic applications. In this paper, we reevaluate the security of Camellia against impossible differential cryptanalysis. Specifically, we propose several 7-round impossible differentials with the FL/FL layers. Based on them, we mount impossible differential attacks on 11-round Camellia192 and 12-round Camellia-256. The data complexities of our attacks on 11-round Camellia-192 and 12-round Camellia-256 are about 2 chosen plaintexts and 2 chosen plaintexts, respectively. The corresponding time complexities are approximately 2 11-round encryptions and 2 12-round encryptions. As far as we know, our attacks are 2 times and 2 times faster than the previously best known ones but have slightly more data.

Improved Impossible Differential Attack on Reduced Version of Camellia-192/256

As an ISO/IEC international standard, Camellia has been used various cryptographic applications. In this paper, we improve previous attacks on Camellia-192/256 with key-dependent layers FL/FL−1 by using the intrinsic weakness of keyed functions. Specifically, we present the first impossible differential attack on 13-round Camellia with 2121.6 chosen ciphertexts and 2189.9 13-round encryptions, ...

New Impossible Differential Attacks of Reduced-Round Camellia-192 and Camellia-256

Camellia is a block cipher selected as a standard by ISO/IEC, which has been analyzed by a number of cryptanalysts. In this paper, we propose several 6-round impossible differential paths of Camellia with the FL/FL−1 layer in the middle of them. With the impossible differential and a well-organized precomputational table, impossible differential attacks on 10-round Camellia-192 and 11-round Cam...

Cryptanalysis of reduced versions of the Camellia block cipher

The Camellia block cipher has a 128-bit block length, a user key of 128, 192 or 256 bits long, and a total of 18 rounds for a 128-bit key and 24 rounds for a 192 or 256-bit key. It is a Japanese CRYPTRECrecommended e-government cipher, an European NESSIE selected cipher and an ISO international standard. In this paper, we describe a flaw in the approach used to choose plaintexts or ciphertexts ...

New Impossible Differential Attacks on Camellia

Camellia is one of the most worldwide used block ciphers, which has been selected as a standard by ISO/IEC. In this paper, we propose several new 7-round impossible differentials of Camellia with 2 FL/FL−1 layers, which turn out to be the first 7-round impossible differentials with 2 FL/FL−1 layers. Combined with some basic techniques including the early abort approach and the key schedule cons...

Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis on Deoxys-BC-256

Deoxys is a final-round candidate of the CAESAR competition. Deoxys is built upon an internal tweakable block cipher Deoxys-BC, where in addition to the plaintext and key, it takes an extra non-secret input called a tweak. This paper presents the first impossible differential cryptanalysis of Deoxys-BC-256 which is used in Deoxys as an internal tweakable block cipher. First, we find a 4.5-round...
